The final day in New York, was more of half a day. As is typical, flights from the UK are usually in the morning, meaning flights back from the USA to the UK are in the evening, flying overnight. Out flights were no different, with a late evening flight from JFK, we had much of the day to do any final sightseeing and shopping.
On leaving the hotel, we were greeted with the sight of more fire engines that probably exist in the City of London. When asking what was happening, it seemed that a hole had been blown in the road from some high pressure beneath the surface. Can’t help but think that there had been a little over-reaction?
I tried not to visit New York’s photographic meca, B&H located on 34th Street, but it was no good. I had been looking at purchasing the Peak Design Everyday Messenger bag for my photographic days out from WEX Photographic. I have purchased items from WEX in the past and always been happy with their service, but a bag is a bag right? There is next to no chance I would ever need to return it? I have always shied away from purchasing camera equipment on holiday, sometimes a local purchase cost can outweigh the cost of an import. Several hundred dollars later I was the owner of the Everyday Messenger bag, and also the Peak Design Field Pouch.
And that was that, time to head to JFK for the night-flight to the UK.
